Flute & Piano

Abigail Burrows and Daniel Swain have been playing together since 2005 and are both artists on the Live Music Now! scheme.  Recent recitals include performances at The Windsor Festival, Cheltenham's Pitville Pump Room, Welshpool Music Club, Whitchurch Purcellians Concert Series, Kinver Social Club, Staffordshire Spring Concert Series, and various concerts and workshops for Live Music Now!

Abbie also plays with pianists Noel Charles and Adrian Boynton.  Recent concerts include Toddington Arts Society, The London Art Club, Bromley Library Concerts, Milton Keynes Gala and Lunchtime Concerts, The Buckingham Festival, The London Piano School Concert Series, and private concerts for the National Trust, Willen Hospice and Club for Acts and Actors.

 

Flute & Guitar

Abigail Burrows and Tom McLauchlan also work as a duo for Live Music Now! and have been on tours of London, Gloucester, Manchester, Kent, Devon and Wales as part of the scheme.  They have performed together in recitals at The Fishguard International Music Festival, Newport Riverfront Centre, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, supplied background music for various events and been on recital tours for Villages in Action, playing for several music societies in the South of England.

 

 

Flight

Specially formed for the corporate events market, Flight are a new and unique classical cross-over ensemble. Performed on amplified flutes with backing track, they have a large selection of music to suit any occasion, including light classical, instrumental pop, jazz and film music. All artists studied at the Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama and play on their own gold flutes, as well as stage instruments that include lighting effects and a flute encrusted with over 8,000 Swarovski crystals.

Soloist with Orchestra

 

Abigail had her Royal Festival Hall Concerto debut aged 15 playing Mozart's Flute Concerto in G.  Not long after, as the winner of the Watford Concerto Competition, she played the Quantz Concerto in G with the St Albans Strings and as part of her prize, travelled to Russia for a concert tour.  The following year she was invited back to play with the Novgorod Philharmonic Orchestra in Novgorod's Philharmonic Hall.  Abbie has performed the recently rediscovered Thomson Concerto in Aberdeen with the Grampian Concert Orchestra and also with the Southwell Orchestral Society.  Last year she played with the Letchworth Sinfonia at Plinston Hall and with the Deane Sinfonia at the prestigious Anvil Concert Hall in Basingstoke.  A regular feature in her hometown of Milton Keynes, Abbie has performed alternate seasons for the past ten years with the Cornerstone Chamber Orchestra at Milton Keynes City Church, the most recent being Mozart's Flute & Harp Concerto with harpist Daniel Defry at the beginning of this year.  She also performed the Nielsen Flute Concerto at the same venue in March this year with the Milton Keynes Sinfonia and has been invited back to play a concerto in their next season in March 2010.  -Please click here to hear a demo.
