Event Director - Spirit of London Awards
I have been involved with SOLA since their first event at Alexandra Palace (2009), originally as a volunteer. The following year I was hired as an Event Manager for the awards at IndigO2 and then promoted to Event Director for the 2012 ceremony at the O2 Arena. Responsible for the planning and delivery of the UK’s biggest youth live awards show, I had a team of over 50 staff and volunteers. In 2016 I reprised this role for the Award Nominations Reception at City Hall.
Project Manager - The Concordia Foundation
I worked for The Concordia Foundation for five years and was in charge of organising their youth music events at venues including Toynbee Hall, Union Chapel and Wilton’s Music Hall, as well as designing and coordinating workshops in primary schools across London for over 600 children and launching a music programme in Kenya. I also offered office support (including web design), and planned fundraising activities. JustGiving made me a 'Featured Fundraiser' due to my unique fundraising ideas.
Operations Manager - School Disco Ltd
This was my first managerial role back in 2006! School Disco was one of the most successful club nights of the noughties (over 2,000 guests per night). I was in charge of front-of-house operations and the point of contact for venue staff and visitors. I handled the guestlists, imported all the pre-sold ticket lists and was responsible for handling money from ticket and merchandise sales. I also managed a large team of actors, dancers, merchandise sellers, DJs, photographers, box office and event staff.
